Funky Llama Festival

Far Flung have been working with Funky Llama, Theatre Royal Plymouth to provide progression routes for disabled artists for the last 3 years.

Funky Llama create Innovative events and creative support for adults with different abilities. Funky Llama is about raising aspirations, creating opportunities, challenging perceptions and developing a regional and national network of creative activity.

Funky Llama celebrates the creative talents of adults with different abilities*. It involves large scale, performing arts and social events as well as increasing the amount of arts opportunities on offer throughout the region.

As well as supporting us to run regular sessions and to mentor our artists we have been commisioned to create 3 new performances and deliver workshops on the Plymouth Hoe as part of the Funky Llama Festival.  These opportunities have enabled us to work with a range of different professional performers as well as dancers from our community classes.  Far Flung thrive in unusal spaces and places, and love to create work outside and out of the black theatre box!

We are excited to continue our partnership with Funky Llama for a further 3 years with the success of their most recent funding application to the Reaching Communities England Big Lottery Fund.

Performers and collaborators include: Hannah Raynor, Katie Wheeler, Sophie Northmore, Lynsey Dart, Rebecca Cox, Sarah Farrow-Jones, Anton Christensen, Gemma Smith,Thomas Remnant.
