About Us

Far Flung Dance Theatre C.I.C was founded in Plymouth, October 2015. We are a professional, disability-led, integrated company producing high-quality, inclusive dance-theatre for all. We provide a platform for disabled people, people with long term health conditions and people with mental health challenges to thrive in the arts.

Our mission is to provide a pathway for disabled people through training, mentoring and performance opportunities that result in clearer progression routes into the performing arts industry.

As well as creating professional performances, we partner with other organisations with a shared ethos to offer a diverse range of work experience for our mentored artists and students.

Our core team, mentored artists and community groups merge together for specific projects to work on large scale community and school performances and workshops to raise awareness of integrated arts.

Clair Beckett | Director and Founder

Clair Beckett

Director and Founder

For the last 10 years I have been working as a dance artist in the South West, developing an integrated dance practice alongside inclusive community dance projects that have been recognised internationally.  Projects include Attik 360- a 3 year Big Lottery Funded inclusive dance project with Attik Dance, and Theatre Royal Plymouth's Funky Llama project which involves large scale, performing arts and social events for disabled people in the South West.

In May 2017 I was diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome which has led to my interest in film making, blogging and public speaking. I am  passionate about educating people about my condition and breaking down the stereotypes that overshadow people with TS.
